The work of the 10th Regional General Assembly of Caritas Africa started this Sunday, May 7, 2023 with a mass said by Archbishop Gabriel Justice ANOKYE, Metropolitan Archbishop of Kumasi and President of Caritas Africa in the chapel of the Casa la Salle Hotel in Rome, Italy.
The Mass was concelebrated by the Cardinals, Bishops and Fathers Directors of the various National Caritas.
The Presiding Bishop, during his homily, emphasized the link between the three dimensions of the Church: the word of God, prayer and the services of charity according to the liturgical texts.
Recalling the choice of the seven deacons chosen by the apostles to serve the poor, the needy, the sick, those who suffer from all kinds of ills in the community, Monsignor emphasized that these three dimensions of the Churches are united and inseparable.
Like these deacons, Caritas workers are chosen to serve these dimensions, a privilege of belonging to Christ who is the only way, the only truth and the life given in abundance.
He concluded by urging each participant to bring people to Christ who is the way, the truth and the life in all their charitable actions.
